I’ve had Type 2 Diabetes since 2013. Not only has this adversely affected my lifestyle, but it has caused significant changes to my weight. All seemed hopeless until I tried out intermittent fasting.

Can you reverse Type 2 Diabetes?

Type 2 Diabetes has been long thought by many to be irreversible. It turns out that you can reduce blood sugar, lose weight, and manage or potentially reverse diabetes by fasting. I’ve been trying it out for a week now and it looks promising in terms of losing weight and staying healthy.

What intermittent fasting program do I use?

I am currently trying out the 16:8 dating program. This means that, for a 24-hour day:

  • I fast for 16 straight hours and take nothing but water
  • The remaining 8 hours is my eating window. I usually eat 2-3 times during this period.

Results so far

From 198 lbs at the beginning of the fast, I am now down to 190 lbs. That’s 8 lbs in 7 days, and it’s mostly fat! What’s even better is that I have been able to lower and maintain my blood sugar levels while reducing my medication.

That’s not bad, not bad at all.
